WHY
By practicing with a professional, you will have the opportunity to apply your interviewing strategies through a simulation and receive feedback.
WHAT
Interviews will take place over Zoom and/or Big Interview. Regardless of the format, you should expect to engage with and answer behavioral questions and other common interview questions typically encountered in a first-round interview.
- Via Zoom or other video conferencing platforms the professional will facilitate the interview and provide feedback.
- Via Big Interview, you will have access to resources, practice questions, and a set of questions that you will record your answers to for the professional to review and provide feedback on.
Following this online engagement, you will be able to meet with the alum to discuss the interview, be provided additional feedback, and have the opportunity to discuss industry-specific questions.
HOW
If selected, you will receive an invite to select an alumni via LionSHARE. All of the slots will include, interviewer name, and industry specialization. You should choose the alumni that best matches with your interests.
WHEN AND WHERE
Practice Interviews will take place virtually between February 24th through March 9th, 2025. You will schedule a time directly with your alumni match. Zoom or other video conferencing platform links will be provided to connect with your interviewer.
During the practice interview, you should:
- Be in a quiet space with quality internet and phone service
- Be on time or communicate with your interviewer if a conflict arises
- Prepare yourself for this practice interview as you would a real interview in order to get the most benefit from the exercise. If you recorded your video via Big Interview you will have the opportunity to meet with the alum, so prepare questions about their feedback (provided in the platform) to discuss
- Research the professional, their role or company, and come to the interview with questions you would ask as a follow-up
