Leena Dai CC’18, an economics major from Philadelphia, was recently selected to be a Yenching Academy Scholar. Dai will pursue a master’s degree in China studies.

Seven Columbia College students and two alumni have received 2018-2019 Fulbright U.S. Student grants, which offer funding for students and young professionals to undertake individually-designed international research and study projects or primary and secondary school teaching in English-language classrooms.
Taylor Troutt CC’18 named Ivy League Player of the Year
Troutt becomes the first Ivy League Player of the Year in the Columbia softball program’s 19-year history, and is the first Lion to earn one of the Ivy League’s top postseason awards since 2003.

Edward W. “Ted” Tayler, the Lionel Trilling Professor in the Humanities Emeritus and special lecturer in English and comparative literature, passed away on April 23. He was 87.
