The annual Dean’s Scholarship Reception on February 11, 2020 brought together more than 450 students and members of the Columbia College donor community. This evening is a special opportunity for supporters of named scholarship funds to meet the recipients of their generosity.
Pictured are Carlos Cuevas CC’05, PH’12, SIPA’12, Dean James J. Valentini and Patricia Granda-Malaver CC’20 who spoke about the remarkable impact that donors have on the lives of Columbia College students by supporting financial aid. Mr. Cuevas is a donor of the Latino Alumni Association Scholarship Fund and Ms. Granda-Malaver received the scholarship for the past two years. Access to a renowned undergraduate experience alters the trajectory of students’ personal growth, professional careers and so much more. The Dean’s Scholarship Reception is a celebration of both the donors who value the power of a world-class education and the outstanding students who benefit from their generosity.
