Another spring, another reunion! Alumni from classes ending in 3 and 8, along with the Class of 2017, and their guests returned to Morningside Heights May 31–June 2 to reimmerse themselves in the College experience and connect with friends old and new. Reunion 2018 had the largest attendance yet, with 2,500 people enjoying a weekend packed with Mini-Core Classes, lectures, tours, lunches, receptions, dinners and parties. Events included a conversation between Google CIO Ben Fried CC’88 and Dean James J. Valentini on Friday afternoon, and Friday night was filled with excitement as 1,500 young alumni from all four undergraduate schools danced and enjoyed the views at the annual Young Alumni Party, held this year at Guastavino’s in East Midtown.
Saturday’s All-Class Reunion welcomed back alumni from all classes for classes, lectures, Camp Columbia, a reading by bestselling author Paul Auster CC’69, GSAS’70 from his recent novel, 4321, a barbecue lunch on the lawns and a wine tasting on the Steps. The weekend closed on Saturday night on Low Plaza and the Steps with dancing, live music and laughter at the Starlight Celebration.
