“From the classroom to the continent: Everything you've ever wanted to know about Learning in Africa”
Columbia's Institute of African Studies invites you to "Lunchtime Conversations," a twice-monthly gathering featuring engaging discussions on diverse topics in African Studies. Our second conversation is about student travel opportunities in Africa for research, language study, internships, art creation, or for short-term faculty-led experiences. Topics for conversation may include: Where is Africa in the global study landscape, nationally and at Columbia? How can institutional resources support student travel in Africa? What should we be thinking about if we want to encourage more diverse itineraries? What should we be thinking about if we want to expand student access?
This week's Lunchtime Conversation will feature the below speakers:
-
Shannon Marquez, Dean of Global Engagement, Columbia University
-
Giorgio DiMauro, Dean of International Initiatives, Barnard College
