Description:
In high school, my research centered on analyzing the distribution, function, and clinical relevance of the transcription factor p63’s N-terminus isoforms DeltaNp63 and TAp63 with the ultimate goal to better understand the role of p63 in cancer. Now, I research under Dr. Harmen Bussemaker in Columbia’s department of biological sciences, with a focus on utilizing computational and statistical methods to better analyze single-cell RNA-sequencing datasets. I have subsequently also continued this work through a REU at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in the summer of 2018, in which I worked under Dr. Jesse Gillis to better understand transcriptional network rewiring events underlying neuronal identity. Beyond my current and past research, I am interested in the application of computer science to the natural sciences, particularly as related to translational computational cancer research and precision medicine.
