Economics-Statistics
Description:
My high school research was mainly conducted in the field of biology, involving the manipulation of a genetic pathway as a method to regulate longevity. Specifically, I controlled the expression of a heart-specific protein to extend lifespan, strengthen cardiac function, and increase stress resistance. I was named a semifinalist in the 2015 Siemens Competition in Math, Science & Technology for my contributions to this project. At Columbia, I expanded my interests and explored research in statistics. The summer of 2017, I performed principal component analysis (PCA) on the S&P 500 using R programming.
