Description:
Ahad is a student of Columbia College. He spent his last summers researching at the Max Planck Institutes of Astronomy and Astrophysics in Germany. He analysed the data from NASA’s WISE Space Telescope to map of the Milky Way using Herschel's star-gage method. Ahad loves challenging problems and was previously a part of Pakistan’s National Astronomy and Astrophysics Team and Physics Team. He worked on two of the IYPT 2016 Physics Research problems which he presented at the International Young Physicists’ Tournament in Russia as a part of Pakistan’s Physics Team. His first problem involved a “magnetic train” for which he developed a mathematical model of the “magnetic train” that was supplemented with experimental results. In addition he used computer simulation Software to produce optimal Models of the Train to maximize its acceleration, speed and efficiency. For his second problem,he worked to invent a “Contactless Calliper”,an optical device that uses a laser pointer and allows contact less determination of thickness, refractive index, and other properties of a glass sheet. Ahad was also the youngest member to be a part of Pakistan’s Hyperloop Team in which he worked to develop a model of the Hyperloop that competed in the Hyperloop Pod Design Competition of SpaceX for which his team was invited to the SpaceX Headquarters. Ahad’s a huge Space Enthusiast, and has had a deep involvement in many of the Space Societies in Pakistan, as well as the National Space Society(NSS) and Space Generation Advisory Council(SGAC). He was the youngest person to be selected as the “top ten Space Ambassadors” by the National Space Society(NSS) and invited to give a talk at the International Space Development Conference(ISDC) 2016. Ahad loves discussing futuristic and innovative ideas that have an impact on society. His research interests are in Physics, Artificial Intelligence, and Space Engineering. Ahad has been inspired by the Space Missions from a young age and plans to double major in Physics and Computer Science.
