I am currently pursuing my PhD at the University of Michigan. My overarching research interests include African American Religion, Ideological debates in Islam, the African Diaspora in Asia, African American Poetry, the history, development, and significance of Spoken Word, the Black Arts Movement, and the Martial Arts.
