Description:
Carbon Dioxide Sequestration with Polymer-Coated Nanoparticles.
I have been working in Professor Jeffrey Koberstein's chemical engineering lab since the summer of 2012. With the help of Professor Koberstein, I designed a molecule consisting of a nanoparticle support and an organic backbone highly loaded with amine groups. This molecule has proved to be an amazing sorbent for carbon dioxide, and
therefore has potential for use in factory filters. Lately I have been working on improving several aspects of the molecule, in order to increase it's carbon capture capacity and amine efficiency.
