I am currently pursuing my PhD at the University of Pennsylvania. My academic pursuits in Latin American and Caribbean Studies and History have led me to study the development and current state of Latin American nations and their place in the geopolitical context, and I am especially interested in analyzing Latin America's relationship with the U.S. Through my research I hope to accomplish a better understanding of indigenous peoples' social and political activism, their positions on civil and land rights issues, and the potential for the development of class equality throughout Latin America.
