Linguistics
Description:
David is studying Linguistics, with a particular interest in second language acquisition of English and Spanish in the Western and Southwestern United States. Specifically, he is interested in interrogating how the psychological and sociological implications of the racialization of existing pedagogical processes affect one’s ability to acquire language. Through his research, he hopes to create a more comprehensive understanding of bilingual and bicultural education and, more broadly, to explore the complexities found at the intersections of race and language.
