Sarah loves the natural world and is involved with the Ecology, Evolution, and Environmental Biology department at Columbia. She has conducted ornithology research and fieldwork with the American Museum of Natural History and with the University of Oxford Zoology department in Wytham Woods. One of her favorite fieldwork experiences was spending two weeks on Great Gull Island, waking up every morning with birdsong and going to bed every night amongst the stars. She enjoys going on walks in which she greets plants with their Latin names (Field Botany has been one of her favorite courses at Columbia). She also has great interests in poetry, monastic life, and cathedrals.
