On February 4, Michael Feldschuh ’91, CEO and president of Daxor Corp., rang the NASDAQ Stock Market opening bell. Daxor, a leader in blood volume measurement technology, began trading on the NASDAQ Capital Markets on February 2.

Hari Nef ’15 appeared in the finale of the HBO Max series And Just Like That… that aired on February 3. Nef discussed the experience and her fandom of the original Sex and the City in The Cut article “Hari Nef Was Dying to Be on And Just Like That... .

Mayor Eric Adams announced the appointments of his climate leadership team on January 31; Rohit T. Aggarwala ’93 was appointed chief climate officer and commissioner of the New York City Department of Environmental Protection. “It is evident to anyone who opens their eyes that we are in the midst of a climate crisis in this city and around the world, so it’s time to think outside the box and determine how we can handle the crisis before it’s too late,” Adams said.

Negar Ahkami ’92

Negar Ahkami ’92 launched an exhibition of her artwork at the Arlington Art Center in Arlington, Va., on January 29. Le Caftan, Le Turban includes paintings that depict European film and fashion icons in caftans and turbans; from the press release: “by combining Middle Eastern signifiers with Western pop culture and art, Ahkami exposes the broader, complex phenomenon of cultural appropriation.”


On January 24, Dr. Ashish K. Jha ’92 was a guest on the New York Times podcast Sway “How Did We Fail So Badly? Emily Oster and Ashish Jha on America’s Covid Response.” He also authored an Opinion column in The Washington Post, “The worst of omicron might have passed. But the pandemic isn’t over.”

Ron Simons ’82

Ron Simons ’82 was the subject of the January 21 New York Times feature “How a Broadway Producer Spends His Sundays.” Simons lives with his partner, Jbya Clarke, in Hell’s Kitchen; his show For Colored Girls is scheduled to open in the spring.


Philadelphia newscaster Jim Gardner ’70 (né James Goldman) announced on January 12 that he’d be stepping away from his role as the anchor of ABC’s Action News, a position he held since 1977. Gardner said this is the first step in his plan to retire fully by the end of this year.
