ALUMNI OFFICE: Heather Applewhite has been promoted to the
position of assistant director of alumni affairs. Applewhite has
worked in the Alumni Office since 1987, most recently as
coordinator of the stewardship program.
HISTORIC: Roger Lehecka '67 has been appointed executive
director of Columbia's 250th anniversary celebration. He will work
with anniversary co-chairs Henry L. King '48, University
Trustee Emeritus, and Jacques Barzun Professor of History
Kenneth T. Jackson, as well as a steering committee, to plan
and coordinate anniversary events, which will culminate on October
31, 2004, the 250th anniversary of the original King's College
charter. Lehecka, a long-time dean of students at the College, has
served for the last two years as director of national alumni
programs and a special adviser to the dean.
