Deferring Frontiers of Science

Columbia College students who are prospective science majors and wish to defer Frontiers of Science until their sophomore year should speak with their advising dean in the Berick Center for Student Advising.

Students who wish to defer Frontiers of Science until their sophomore year must be enrolled in Literature Humanities, a Mathematics course, a language course at the Elementary II level or above and CHEM UN3045-UN3046, PHYS UN1601-UN1602, or PHYS UN2801-UN2802 and will have to petition the Committee on Academic Standing.

All Other Exemptions

Students seeking exemptions from Art Humanities, Contemporary Civilization, Literature Humanities, and Music Humanities should consult their advising dean.
